Everyday you have an opportunity to join others in praying for a specific unreached people group. What is unreached? An unreached or least-reached people is a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group without outside assistance. Several years ago, we had the opportunity to develop the Unreached of the Day mobile app. It has been a huge success!
Similar to the app, a visitor to the website will be presented with a photo, a map of where the people group lives, and details about the people group. They will learn about the people, what obstacles hinder the delivery of the Gospel, ideas on how to share the Gospel with them, and ways to pray for the group. Visitors can also discover volunteer opportunities where they can help to expedite the delivery of the Gospel to this unique people group.
We wanted to expand the reach of the app by creating a mobile friendly website that utilizes various progressive web app techniques in order to deliver content fast to our users. We use tools like browser caching, service workers, and Javascript code splitting and tree shaking to accomplish this goal.
Joshua Project is a research initiative seeking to highlight the ethnic people groups of the world with the fewest followers of Christ. Joshua Project gathers, integrates and shares people group information to encourage pioneer church-planting movements among every ethnic group and to facilitate effective coordination of mission agency efforts.
